Partner with Canopy Forest School

We’d be delighted to work with schools looking to:

  • support students who are struggling to thrive;

  • strengthen SEND provision and inclusion strategy;

  • re-engage students who find attendance difficult;

  • broaden their provision; or

  • develop sustainability leadership and a climate action plan.

Alternative Provision Specialist Taskforce

We’d also welcome the opportunity to support schools interested in establishing an Alternative Provision Specialist Taskforce as part of a multidisciplinary specialist team.

In order to provide the best provision possible we have a six step process that all new schools go through. This process usually takes around 6 weeks to ensure that we can provide a structured, carefully planned, quality assured and out-come focused alternative provision.

 Our six step process:

Laptop On Desk

Step 1:

Contact us and share the provision that you require. A referral form can also be completed.

Woman on Phone

Step 2:

A discussion about the provision you require with more details about the needs of the group.

Planner With Pen

Step 3:

Booking a visit to your site

A visit to your site will be planned and arranged so that we can conduct initial site assessments.

Step 4:

Conducting an assessment of your grounds

Compiling an itinerary of the fauna and flora at your school site. These will be used to create benefit and risk assessments alongside an ecological impact review and 3 year development plan.

Tax Income Reports

Step 5:

Sharing information about the students and planning the induction process

At this stage we will begin compiling information about the students you would like us to work with. You will need to fill out an Admissions Form which includes information about IEP's, Health Care Plans and targets set for each child. A School Service agreement form and parents will also need to sign a consent form and a parent agreement contract

Step 6:

Meeting the students and beginning our alternative provision programme

Meeting with each of the students and sharing more about who we are and what we will be doing in a space that they feel comfortable in. Sharing social stories and social scripts alongside a newsletter and information for parents.

Canopy Forest School can work with your school’s SENCO to establish a provision that other local schools can access. This could be especially beneficial if you have grounds you would like to let to us, allowing us to run Ofsted-approved alternative provision sessions from your school site. If this is of interest, please let us know in your initial contact email.
